Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking an IT Systems Analyst to join our growing team!

As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CP & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals!

In the position of IT System Analyst, the successful candidate will be responsible for bridging business needs with IT solutions. This position involves analyzing current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement efficient IT solutions.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders, the Management Team, and the IT Manager to gather and document business and system requirements, understanding user needs, and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Creating detailed system design proposals, including workflows, data flows and technical architecture to guide development and implementation efforts.
  • Evaluating and recommending software solutions that align with business goals, considering factors such as functionality, compatibility, and scalability.
  • Overseeing the deployment of new systems, coordinating with developers, testers, and end-users to ensure successful implementation.
  • Performing tests and validation of systems to ensure they meet the specifications and function as intended. Troubleshoot any defects in the systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for process automation and improvement, using technology to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Developing training materials and providing user training to help employees to use new systems and tools.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of system configuration, processes, and user guides for reference and future updates.
  • Providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems related to systems and applications.
  • Ensuring systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements, implementing measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Basic Administration:

  • Effective communication with Stakeholders, Management Team, and Operations Team.
  • Accurate record keeping by managing and maintaining a filing system, both paper and digital.
  • Read and sign off on all related company SOP’s.
  • Provide support and coordination to the operations department as needed on an occasional or on-going basis.

For success in this role, you must have:

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Post Secondary courses in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology would be considered an asset.
  • Diploma/relevant network engineering designation e.g. (CompTIA Network+, CCNA).

Skill requirements:

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment and initiative.
  • Knowledge and ability to alphabetize, numerically rank, file, sort and batch documents and maintain general record keeping and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of general office practices, protocols, and procedures.
  • Must be dependable and reliable in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have great time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

In this IT System Analyst position, you can look forward to a Monday-Friday schedule and a wage range of $60,000-$65,000 per year. This position offers benefits after 90 days of employment. These benefits include:
