Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking a Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Manager to join our growing team!
As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CP & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals!
In the position of HSS Manager,the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing Health and Safety leadership, developing and maintaining the HSS management system, evaluating and monitoring HSS hazards, and developing and implementing safety programs. The HSS Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and creating a safe working environment for employees.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and enforcing health and safety guidelines that comply with all provincial and/or federal regulations.
- Conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Organizing and conducting safety training sessions for employees to ensure they understand and comply with safety standards.
- Leading investigations into any workplace accidents or incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant health and safety laws and regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents and providing regular reports to senior management on health and safety performance.
- Developing and overseeing emergency response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Identifying opportunities for improving safety processes and implementing innovative solutions to enhance workplace safety.
For success in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Holds a certificate or is eligible for either a CRSP or CSP certification (Certified Safety Professional)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver's license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
