Description

The main role of this position is the planning and preparation of meals at the lodge for guests and staff during their trips. Specific details include:

• Development of menu.
• Cooking and serving of all meals throughout the week: Breakfasts, lunches, appetizers, dinners, desserts
• Planning of weekly menu items, preparation of grocery lists and management of food inventory
• Purchasing and packing of weekly grocery lists for truck transport
• Cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, appliances, dishes and utensils
• Proper and safe use of all kitchen equipment and appliances
• Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
• Adherence to proper food preparation and service regulations, as well as specific lodge safety procedures/protocols
• Must be able to work both independently or with a team in a very remote location

Qualifications:

• Must have current Food Safe certifications.
• Experience in cooking, menu preparation .
• Specific backcountry work experience and knowledge is preferred but not mandatory

Possibility of long-term employment for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
