D&W Forwarders Inc. has been in the Transportation Business, Heavy-Haul Flatbed and Bulk, since 1953 in Ontario, Alberta and now opening in Ashcroft, BC to serve our primary customer, IG Machine & Fibers Ltd.

We are currently looking to fill 1 opening for full-time Railyard Operators load railcars in compliance with safe work practices.

Job Description – Primary Operations:

· To load railcars with correct product and without product contamination, within legal and specified weight limits, within the deadlines provided

· To assign loads to drivers

· To work with IG Machine & Fibers Granule Plant to co-ordinate daily activities and resolve any issues/changes

· To work within the Policies and Procedures of IKO, IG Machine & Fibers, D&W, and the Ashcroft Terminal

· Other duties as required.

Preparing rail car for loading – ensure railcar/hopper is clean:

· Open hopper slide gate, remove residual trace of sand/granules

· Use of brush to clean the car hopper slide gate doors & bottom of hopper

· Close hopper slide gate

· Apply seals to railcar hopper slide gate

Preparing rail car for loading – open/close hatch:

• Use Man Lift safely

Railcar Loading:

· Operate conveyor

· Ensure product contamination is prevented

· Apply loading tags/remove old tags

· Record information on tag and report to IG Machine & Fibers

Railcar Unloading:

• As Instructed

Other General Duties

• Ensure supplies in stock
• Clean rail conveyor loading chute (on truck ramp) at the end of the day
