Skeetchestn Natural Resources LLP is a natural resources company that assists in the management of Skeetchestn Territory on behalf of Skeetchestn Indian Band. Our approximately 40 staff and contractors work in departments that include Cultural Heritage, Forestry, Environment, Emergency Management, Value Added Plant, Range, and Fisheries. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for the administration and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety program and promotes a culture of safety throughout the business.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and maintain safety policies and procedures in collaboration with management team,

• Ensure safe certifications in natural resources, mining, and oil and gas are maintained,

• Develop and oversee management system for safety documents,

• Monitor compliance with approved policies and procedures,

• Communicate safety program to staff and contractors,

• Complete contractor and employee orientations,

• Lead the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee,

• Participate in incident investigations and safety inspections,

• Support ETV deployment where required and ensure its ready for use,

• Ensure vehicle and equipment maintenance is completed and records are maintained.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma,

• Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety with 2 years industry experience,

• Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) Certification,

• Current First Aid Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement,

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, and Microsoft 365 Preferred

Requirements and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Secwepémc communities and culture,

• Current Level 3 First Aid,

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety,

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification,

• Class 5 Drivers license and clean abstract.
